Meatballs with a festive touch and taste! 1 cup crumbled bread (slices or buns, etc.) Place the bread crumbs in a small bowl and cover with the milk or half and half. Set aside. In another bowl combine the ground meat, onion, and garlic. Mix in the egg, salt, pepper, cinnamon, cloves, currants, pine nuts and finally the soaked bread mixture. Shape to make about 20 or so meat balls, using a little flour on your hands if necessary. In a heavy bottomed skillet, heat the oil. Place just enough meatballs into the hot oil so that they are not touching. Cook and turn them using a spoon or spatula to brown nicely and to hold the ball shape. Remove to a serving platter and continue with the rest. Serve as an appetizer garnished with herbs, on crackers or bread slices, etc. Or serve as a main dish with cooked rice or pasta, etc....
