Greek Saganaki Appetizers

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at

8 oz. halloumi or feta cheese
1 egg
1 - 2 teaspoons snipped fresh oregano
1/2 cup all purpose unbleached flour
2 - 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 - 2 red ripe tomatoes
1 lemon

Drain and pat the cheese dry and then cut into squares about 2 inches or so. In a small bowl whisk the egg with the oregano. Dip each piece of feta into the egg mixture and then into the flour to coat all sides. In a heavy bottomed skillet, heat the oil and gently fry each until golden brown, turning once. Arrange on serving platter with tomato wedges. Zest the lemon over the cheese pieces and then cut the lemon into wedges and arrange around the cheese and tomato wedges. Serve!
