Horseradish Bread Sticks

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. These make a perfect appetizer,, or use as an addition to a salad, soup, etc.

1 cup all purpose unbleached flour
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup unsalted butter, very cold
2 tablespoons cream of horseradish
3 - 4 tablespoons very cold water
1 1/2 tablespoons caraway seeds
extra virgin olive oil for brushing
sprinkles of sea salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat and set aside. In food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl the flour, salt and baking powder. Add the cold butter and horseradish and process just until the butter has been cut into small pieces. With motor running, quickly add the 3 tablespoons cold water and caraway seeds, and process until it wants to form a ball, adding additional water as needed. (or instead of food processor, use you hands to work the butter in and then hand knead to make a ball of dough) Using a pasty cloth dredged with flour, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into stick shapes, twisting to make twisted bread sticks and place on the baking sheet. Brush tops with a little olive oil and sprinkle on just a little bit of salt. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or more, until nicely browned. Place pan on cooling rack and allow to cool and then remove the bread sticks to a serving platter.
