Marinated Fresh Peaches

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve with ice cream or other puddings or cakes for a nice summertime dessert.

3 - 4 fresh peaches
1/2 bottle or so of a nice red wine (use up what you didn't drink last night!)
2 tablespoons raw sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Wash but do not peel the peaches, just tidy them up a bit if needed, removing the pits. Cut peaches into nice slices and place in a batter bowl and add the wine, sugar and cinnamon. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight. Serve as a side to other desserts, or just spoon into beautiful sherbet dishes and serve chilled.
