Fig and Olive Dip or Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. A grand appetizer, or also a nice interesting pasta "sauce".

2 cloves garlic
6 - 8 fresh figs, stems removed
1 cup pitted black olives
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
pinch of dried or fresh herbs, as desired (oregano, rosemary, basil....)
chips, crackers, vegetable sticks, etc. for dippers

In food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl the garlic to puree it nicely and then add the figs, olives, olive oil and herbs. Serve with chips, crackers, veggie sticks, etc. or toss it over a salad or into some freshly cooked pasta!
