This recipe is easy and yummy, and serve it with cooked rice. 1/2 - 1 pound rump steak, or other tender cut of beef steak Very thinly slice the beef into strips. In a bowl combine the shredded beef, salt, baking soda, hot water and soy sauce. Stir or knead by hand until liquid is absorbed into the meat. Heat a wok or stir fry pan with the peanut oil. Add the minced garlic and the meat and stir fry over high heat about 2 minutes. Add the stock, bring to a boil. In a small bowl or cup, combine the cornstarch and cold water to make a paste and stir it into the beef, cooking and stirring until thickened.
