Pesto and Pasta

From Dorothy McNetet's recipes at Great to serve hot or cold....nice for a brunch side dish.

cooked pasta of your choice (so many sizes and shapes to choose from!)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup raw or roasted unsalted walnuts
zest and juice of 1 lemon or lime
1 cup loosely packed fresh sage leaves
2 avocados
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
a few grindings or fresh pepper, as desired

Cook the pasta according to the package directions and when done drain and place in a serving bowl and toss in the olive oil. Set aside. In food processor or blender, whirl the garlic to mash it up nicely and then add the walnuts and blend. Add the zest and juice, sage leaves, avocados, salt and pepper and blend to make a nice smooth mix. Toss into the hot, warm, or cold pasta and serve.
