Chocolate Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Strong coffee is an excellent substitute for the hot water.

1/2 cup hot water or hot coffee
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup raw sugar
1/4 pound semi-sweet chocolate (3/4 cup chocolate chips)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

To 2-cup glass measure add water, butter, sugar and chocolate. Cook in microwave 2 minutes. Stir well. Cook another minute if chocolate isn't completely melted, stirring to blend. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm or chilled, and is wonderful drizzled over cakes or fudge bars, etc.
