Molasses Coady from Newfoundland

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at Coady is a popular molasses based sauce, not candy if you think it is misspelled!

1 cup molasses
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup water

Combine in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook, stirring often, for about 6 - 8 minutes or so to make a nice sauce. Serve over cakes or other desserts.
