Kona Asian Pear Salad

From Dorothyy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. YUM!!

green lettuce leaves, about 8 to 9 cups or so
2 - 3 Asian pears unpeeled and thinly sliced
1/2 - 3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 small onion (red is usually used), thinly sliced
3/4 cup smoked almonds, chopped a bit if necessary
6 tablespoons orange juice and the zest
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon raw sugar or honey
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
several fresh grindings of pepper

Place salad greens and pear slices in salad bowl and toss in the crumbled cheese, onion, and smoked almonds. In glass measuring cup whisk together the orange zest and juice, vinegar, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper and toss into the salad and serve.
