Chocolate Covered Fruits and Nuts Deluxe

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Dark chocolate is food, white and milk chocolate is candy! I like to use dark (60%) or real unsweetened dark chocolate. But it is fun to also use milk or white chocolate since we are making candy anyway! But with dark chocolate and dried fruits and raw nuts, this makes a nice sweet treat to eat without too much "guilt"!

1/2 - 1 pound dark chocolate, or milk or white as desired
fresh or dried fruits, such as cranberries, cherries, apricots, dates, etc. etc. (even dried vegetables and chips, etc.)
raw or roasted and lightly salted nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, peanuts, pine nuts...)

In glass or ceramic batter bowl, microwave the chocolate for 1 minute. Stir to melt, heating another 10-30 seconds, if needed. Stir in your choices of fruits or nuts. Be creative and spread it out onto a parchment lined baking sheet into shapes and sizes desired. Make a Christmas tree and decorate it with more fuits and nuts, etc. Or just simply use a spoon and make dollops of the candy. Set aside to harden.
