California Walnut or Pecan Cheese with Fruit

4 tablespoons chopped red bell pepper or pimiento, or sweet baby peppers
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1-2 teaspoons mixed dry herbs (Herbs d'Provence, etc)
1/2 - 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
crackers or bread slices
pear and apple slices

Combine pepper, onion, and oil in glass bowl and cook in microwave 1 minute. Add cream cheese, reduce to half power and cook another minute. Blend well, adding Worcestershire and seasonings. Shape into a ball and roll in walnuts or pecans. Chill. Serve with crackers and fruit wedges. Or instead of chilling simply serve in an attractive bowl with spreaders and pile it onto the sliced fruits.
