Lemony Buffet Carrots

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com.

1 pound of fresh carrots, sliced on the diagonal
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 lemon, sliced perfectly thin
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 tablespoons freshly snipped parsley
spiced almonds or walnuts, as desired, for garnish

Microwave carrots with the butter, covered, on high for 5 minutes, or until carrots are crisp-tender. Add remaining ingredients and serve hot, warm, or room temperature. Add spiced nuts at serving time.
