Chocolate Flowers and Such

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. I do this often in Cooking Club and it is always viewed with amazement and pleasure! Create!!! Serve on an appetizer platter with assorted cheeses and greens. Also great for decorating a birthday cake, etc. Be creative!

1/2 pound dark chocolate chips
1/3 cup corn syrup

Combine chocolate and corn syrup in a batter bowl. Microwave on high for one minute. Stir to mix together. Allow to stand at least 2 hours. Do not refrigerate. Allowing it to stand overnight is even better. When ready to shape, mold it with your hands into any shape, or roll it out and cut to fit over a cake. I like to make roses and other flowers out of it. It is like working with modeling clay, except that this tastes better! Also, you can roll this out using a little powdered sugar to keep it from sticking to your work surface. Roll and use to cover cakes, etc. Cookie cutters or other shaping tools make it easy to design, create, enjoy!
