Tomato Basil Dip or Sauce
From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Great as a dip for all veggies and bread sticks, or poured over some soft cheese. Also great for a sandwich and sliders sauce.
3 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
Sauté garlic in olive oil but do not brown. Turn heat down. Add tomatoes, water, basil, and wine. Cover and steam 3-4 minutes. Place in heat proof bowl and use as a dip. Also wonderful poured over a small wedge of soft Brie. Serve with bread slices and slivered vegetables. Also wonderful with grilled artichokes and cheeses, etc.
