Caramelized Carrot Strips

2-3 fresh carrots, scrubbed and cut into strips
water, 2-3 tablespoons
1-2 tablespoons butter
salt and white pepper

In a flat skillet, heat the water and butter until boiling. Add the carrots and turn heat to low and allow to cook gently until water and butter have been reduced.
