Pears with Stilton or Gorgonzola

Wedge of Stilton or Gorgonzola
fresh ripe pears, any kind

Set a large wedge of Stilton or Gorgonzola cheese on a cheese platter. (For a side-by-side cheese tasting, use a wedge of each and let people taste the differences, just for fun!) Allow to stand at room temperature for about 1 hour. To serve, slice fresh pears thinly and arrange around the cheese, cutting more slices as needed. A squeeze of lemon juice on the slices will help prevent darkening, but if serving with wine use very little or no lemon.
