Baked Apple Ginger Dessert

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. So very easy and delicious. Use melted butter or use extra virgin olive oil.

1 cup unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup raw sugar
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup melted unsalted butter OR extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

2-3 apples
2-3 tablespoons candied ginger

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine flour, sugar, salt, egg, butter or oil, and walnuts and set aside. Core and slice the apples and layer with candied ginger in a pie dish. Pour the flour mixture over the top of apples and bake 35-40 minutes.
