Cherry Mascarpone Swirly Swoon

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Create this dessert in small individual dishes, or a big glass bowl. Serve with chocolate such as a Dark Chocolate Heart!

1 package Italian ladyfingers
1/2 cup orange juice or sherry, or a combination of both
1 carton mascarpone cheese (17 oz.)
1/2 cup cherry juice
1/4 cup gooseberry or other berry jam
2-3 cups cherries, pitted and chopped slightly

Select the serving dishes, using clear glass stemmed glasses or a large glass bowl for best effect. Brush each ladyfinger with the orange juice/sherry mixture and place in the serving dishes, breaking them into the right sizes, if needed. In a batter bowl, soften the cheese on half power for 30 seconds in the microwave. Whisk in the cherry juice, the jam (may need to heat it 30 seconds to soften it), and then fold in the cherries. Pile into the ladyfinger lined dishes. Cover and refrigerate at least 3-4 hours before serving. Can be made 1-2 days in advance even. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate covered cherries or Dark Chocolate Heart, etc.
